On Friday, June 4, 2010, the FIRE Coalition, working with our partners at the Patriot Coalition and NovemberPatriots held our first National Security Conference of 2010 in the old Kansas Supreme Court Chambers in the Kansas State Capitol Building, in Topeka, Kansas. Whether it is amnesty for illegal aliens, the nearly 10% unemployment rate, or the rising instances of drug cartel and gang crime along our southern border, our elected officials at the federal, state, and local levels need to work together for the American People. On Saturday, June 19th, we will hold our second national security conference of 2010 in Hamilton, Ohio.
The United States is still being subjected to the largest invasion in world history, and the Republic is at risk of disappearing from the face of the Earth due to the failure of elected officials to uphold and defend the Constitution. Article 4, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution guarantees us "protection against invasion." For the past 30+ years, we have seen little more than lip-service to actually secure our borders. State government officials take the same oath to uphold the Constitution as our federal "public servants." That immigration and border security are primarily federal mandates, does not relieve our state and local governments from their responsibility to protect the citizenry of their respective sovereign states.
Working with the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI), Arizona State Senator Russell Pierce has just passed the toughest immigration enforcement law in the country, landing on Arizona Governor Jan Brewer's desk on Patriot's Day, April 19, 2010. Four days later, it became LAW, and in some respects will be a "shot heard 'round the country" that sovereign states will no longer stand by waiting for the federal government to protect them against invasion. Read SB-1070 here. Pennsylvania State Representative Daryl Metcalfe, founder of the State Legislators for Legal Immigration Coalition, introduced HB-2479, the Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Communities Act on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Other states will soon follow suit, exercising their 10th Amendment Rights, and honoring their oaths of office to uphold and defend the Constitution. Visit RepMetcalfe.com to view the press conference. Click here for the transcript of my speech.
On April 15, 2010, Congressman Walter Jones, (NC-3) and Congressman Christopher Murphy (CT-5) founded, and will co-chair the new "BUY AMERICAN" Caucus, which "aims to strengthen laws that require the federal government to make buying American-made products a priority." "It is time we bring manufacturing jobs back to the American people," said Jones. Read more here.
Join the November Patriots and the FIRE Coalition on June 4, 2010 as "National Security Begins in the Great Plains," and in Hamilton, Ohio on June 19, 2010 as "National Security Begins in the Midwest." God Bless America and those that defend Her!

The FIRE Coalition held its second educational event of 2009 on April 13, 2009 at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. "The Voice of York County," WRHI FM 94.3 AM 1340 broadcasted this Town Hall Meeting live! FIRE Coalition S.C. Director Ginny Faircloth did an outstanding job organizing this event.
The negative impact of illegal immigration is felt throughout our country, especially in the Deep South where unemployment rates are at levels not experienced in decades. This town hall style event with special guest speaker, former Congressman Tom Tancredo in Winthrop Coliseum, located on the campus of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina was a peaceful, dignified exchange of ideas and civil dialog. Alamance County, N.C. Sheriff Terry S. Johnson and Lexington County S.C. Deputy Sheriff Ted Xanthakis and his K-9 partner Arcos recieved the Operation FIRE & ICE Distinguished Service Award for their exemplary performance in working with ICE to curb illegal alien crime and protect lives.
Congressman Tom Tancredo started the Immigration Reform Caucus in Congress, and has been a constant voice against the largest invasion in world history, and was a Presidential candidate in the 2008 election cycle. Shortly before leaving Congress, Rep. Tancredo launched The Rocky Mountain Foundation. "Each generation must battle anew to preserve and fortify our Constitutional liberties, our safety and security, and the principles of private property and limited government which underlie our economic prosperity. To advance these goals, we will utilize all available means of education and communication to illuminate and shape the public debates on policy issues confronting the citizens of Colorado and the region." |
